Terms of Service

These are the rules for using this website.

Version 1.1 · Effective September 2, 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by the GLP-1 Collective, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in Iowa, EIN 33-2783506, at 6701 Corporate Dr, Ste N, Johnston, IA 50131 ([email protected]). “We”, “us” and “the Collective” mean that organization. “You” means you.

By using this site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. This is not medical advice

Everything on this site — every page, every article, every calculator — is general education and advocacy. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.

The Collective is not a medical provider. We do not practise medicine, prescribe, dispense, or provide individual clinical guidance. Using this site does not create a clinician-patient relationship between you and the Collective or anyone associated with it.

Never delay or disregard professional medical advice because of something you read here. Talk with your own prescriber before changing anything about your medication or treatment. In an emergency, call 911.

3. The tools

The calculators and guides under Resources run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them is transmitted to us or stored on any server. They produce general estimates from population-level guidance and know nothing about your labs, your history or your circumstances. Treat every output as a starting point for a conversation with your prescriber, not an instruction.

4. Resources provided by other companies

Some resources on this site were built by, or are hosted by, for-profit companies founded by our Executive Director — specifically GLP-1 Studio LLC and Cozy Butter LLC. The Collective pays nothing for them and receives no payment, commission or referral fee for featuring them. Those companies are independent of the Collective, and their content and conduct are not official statements or positions of the Collective. Our Disclosures page sets this out in full and is part of these Terms.

5. Third-party links, programs and communities

This site links to external websites, assistance programs, communities and events we do not own or control. We list them because they may be useful. We do not vet, supervise, endorse, guarantee or insure them, we are not responsible for their content, availability, decisions or conduct, and inclusion is not an endorsement.

Assistance programs are administered by other organizations. Eligibility, funding and availability are set and changed by them. We cannot guarantee that you will be approved for anything.

Events and meetups are organised by community members and third parties, not by the Collective. We do not supervise or insure them.

6. We do not ask you for money

This website does not solicit donations. It carries no donation mechanism, no fundraising appeal, no membership fee and nothing for sale. The Collective is not registered as a charitable solicitor in any state, and it does not ask the public for contributions.

Nothing on this site should be read as a request for a donation, a sponsorship, a grant or any other payment. If we ever begin soliciting, we will register wherever the law requires before we do, and this page will say so first.

If a gift is nonetheless made to the Collective by some other means, it is voluntary and non-refundable. The Collective is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are deductible to the extent allowed by law; we do not give tax advice, and what you can deduct is between you and your own adviser. We provide a written acknowledgment where the law requires one.

7. Email updates

If you sign up for email, we send you updates and nothing else. You can unsubscribe from any email. The Collective's mailing list belongs to the Collective; we do not sell, rent or trade it, and we do not make it available to any company for marketing. See the Privacy Policy.

Those emails may thank a sponsor by name. That is an acknowledgment and not an advertisement: it identifies the sponsor and nothing more. It is not a recommendation, a price, a comparison, an inducement to buy, or a statement that the Collective has evaluated anything the sponsor sells. Sponsors never receive your email address and are never told who is on the list.

8. Age

This site is written for adults. You must be 18 or older to sign up for our email updates or to use the contact form. The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them; if you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it. Pages written for teenagers, such as Teens and Adolescents, are written for parents, caregivers and clinicians to read with a young person, and do not change this.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use this site to break the law, to interfere with its operation or security, to scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people, or to misrepresent yourself as us. Do not use our name, logo or content to imply we endorse a product, provider or treatment.

10. What you send us

If you write to us, you keep everything you send. We use it to answer you and for nothing else. We will not publish your message, your name or your story without asking you first and getting your agreement in writing.

Please do not send us confidential information, and please do not send us detailed medical records. We are not your clinician, we cannot advise on them, and we would rather not hold them. If you send us an unsolicited idea or proposal, we cannot promise it is not something we were already working on, and sending it does not create any obligation on our part.

11. Our content

Content on this site is owned by the Collective or used with permission. Republished material — including Patient Lens — remains the property of its publisher and is used with permission. Headlines and summaries link to original reporting, which belongs to the publications named.

You may read, print and share our pages for personal, educational and non-commercial use with attribution. Anything beyond that needs our written permission.

12. Copyright complaints

This site carries no user-generated content: there are no accounts, no comments and no uploads. Everything here was published by us or republished with permission. If you nevertheless believe material on this site infringes your copyright, write to [email protected] with:

  • identification of the work you say has been infringed;
  • the URL of the material on this site you are complaining about;
  • your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner;
  • your physical or electronic signature.

We review complete notices promptly and remove or disable material where the complaint has merit. If we remove something of yours and you believe that was a mistake, write to the same address and we will look at it again.

13. No warranties

This site is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it accurate and current, but medicine, coverage and law all change, and we do not warrant that everything here is complete, accurate or up to date at the moment you read it. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Collective and its directors, officers, volunteers and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your use of this site or your reliance on anything in it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Iowa, and you agree to their jurisdiction.

16. Accessibility

We want this site usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation and magnification. We build it to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA as our working standard. We do not claim it is perfect. If any part of this site is not accessible to you, write to [email protected], tell us the page and what happened, and we will fix it and get you the information you were after in the meantime.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change we will post the new version with a new version number and effective date. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the change. These Terms apply to your use of the site as it exists when you use it.

18. The rest of it

Severability. If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and everything else stays in force.

No waiver. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy and the Disclosures page, are the whole agreement between you and the Collective about this website.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor organization, and will say so on this page if we do.

Survival. Sections 2, 4, 5, 10, 11, 13, 14 and 15, and this one, survive any end to your use of the site.

No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not give anyone other than you and the Collective a right to enforce them.

Availability. This is a free website run by a small nonprofit. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and we are not liable for it being unavailable.
